chalk dust covering a field of green
running the functions till my fingers bleed
any way i work them it's the same old thing
why equals me over you plus greed

i'm a sea sponge sitting on the ocean floor
supersaturated i don't need no more
my saline spirit could soothe your sores
but i'm a self-centered skeleton spilling on the shore

this morning we're bundled in a humble shack
and you're pouring cream and sugar in a porcelain glass
